Plaid tells council: Don't Close Trem y Glyn

The Plaid Cymru team have been out in Cwmgwrach, letting local people know about our campaign to keep Trem y Glyn home open. Consultation forms were handed out to resident in an attempt to convince the Labour-led Neath Port Talbot council that the closure of the home would be a desperate mistake.

Despite a successful campaign to save Trem y Glyn being won only a few years ago, Neath Port Talbot council have now reasserted their aim of closiing the site within the next six years. The council had initially claimed that a replacement facility would be built should Trem y Glyn close but they have since gone back on that promise.

News of the potential closure has brought worry to many families and local residents, as well as those who rely on the service already. Staff are also rightly concerned for their jobs, as was reported in the South Wales Evening Post. The proposal from the council comes at a time when Plaid Cymru are already fighting the closure of the Arwelfa care home in Croeserw.

Assembly Members, Dai Lloyd and Bethan Jenkins, are fighting alongside Plaid Cymru councillors and local volunteers in a bid to maintain this vital service and would love to hear your views on the situation. Don't hesitate to get in touch if you would like to help with the campaign.
