Labour run council is not listening to residents says Dr Dai Lloyd AM

Plaid Cymru AM for South Wales West, Dr Dai Lloyd has accused Swansea Council of failing to listen to residents’ concerns over the lack of bus services in the Derwen Fawr area of the city. Following a street surgery in the area Dr Lloyd raised the issue of the number 37 service with Swansea Council.

“I had received numerous complaints from constituents in Derwen Fawr that the 37 service only operates on a two hourly basis and does not offer a Sunday or bank holiday service. I wrote to the council expressing these concerns on behalf of constituents in the hope that the council would take note and improve accessibility to services for those who live in Derwen Fawr.”

Dr Lloyd has since received a response from the local authority who have stated that they have no plans to increase the frequency of the 37 service. In response Dr Lloyd AM said:

“I am disappointed that the Labour administration on the City & County of Swansea Council have decided not to listen to the concerns raised by residents of Derwen Fawr regarding the frequency of this bus service. The lack of commitment to adding a Sunday or bank holiday service is especially disappointing, and I would hope that they reconsider their decision not to increase the frequency of the buses.”
